The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and adding on, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transport.

The operational area (VO) Lindåsa will become a prison just outside Tollarp with approximately 110 places for men in security class 3.

The work will be led by a prison manager together with 3 prison officers. The prison will conduct extensive enforcement and investigative work, while also providing valuable employment opportunities such as gardening, kitchen, learning center, program activities, and packaging workshop. We will also place a strong focus on security work in the form of, for example, searches and relationship-building work/dynamic security work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a managerial support / HIA (work supervisor), you will assist the prison officers (first-line managers) with the coordination of overarching processes for the operational area through follow-up, investigation, case management, and administration. In your role, you will assist with recruitment, personnel administration, and strategic personnel planning. Furthermore, you will also work with annual planning, meeting administration, record-keeping, and IT administration. Other tasks include coordination, preparation, and planning of negotiations, training, and similar activities.

You will be an important part of ensuring a good planning horizon as well as providing support in everyday operations. In your role as managerial support / HIA, you will also have overall responsibility for new employees and their introduction and further development in the job. Initially, your work will consist of creating conditions and shaping the operations that will be conducted at the new prison, which is expected to open around the turn of the year 2025/2026, together with the management team. Since the prison has not yet opened, the placement will initially be at another operational site in the area.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are the contact person for the operational area and the face to many external actors, which places high demands on your ability to collaborate, maintain a high level of service, and possess good social skills. Furthermore, you are organized and have the ability to work systematically with many processes simultaneously and under your own responsibility. You have good analytical skills and can prioritize your tasks. It is important that you are clear in your communication and can adapt your message based on the recipient's conditions. You also express yourself well in writing.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree in a relevant field for the position, such as HR or law, or another education combined with experience deemed relevant by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
• Experience in administrative work within public operations.
• Experience in handling cases, drafting investigations, and preparing decisions.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
• Good computer skills.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Knowledge and experience in driving, leading, and maintaining processes with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience working within the prison system.
• Experience in record-keeping.
• Experience in IT administration.
• Experience in personnel administration.
• Experience in personnel planning/recruitment.
• Experience in working with personnel guidance.
